A technical guide to configuring your environment for secure connection to the DarkMatter network architecture.

Operational Security (OpSec)

Before attempting to connect to hidden services, it is imperative to understand that standard internet browsers are insufficient for privacy. This guide outlines the mandatory steps to establish a secure connection tunnel. Failure to follow these protocols may result in de-anonymization.

STEP 01

Environment Setup

Download the official Tor Browser from the Tor Project website. Do not use third-party bundles or VPN-over-Tor configurations unless you have advanced networking knowledge.

  • Install Tor Browser (Version 12.0+ recommended).
  • Navigate to Settings > Privacy & Security.
  • Set Security Level to Safer or Safest. This disables non-essential scripts.
STEP 02

Access & Verification

Phishing is the primary threat vector. Always verify the V3 Onion address against a trusted PGP signed message.

Upon loading the login page, verify the site's signature matches the DarkMatter official public key. If the signature is invalid, disconnect immediately.

STEP 03

Account Security

The registration process requires a username, password, and withdrawal PIN. You will be generated a Mnemonic Phrase.

CRITICAL: The Mnemonic Phrase is the ONLY way to recover your account if you lose your password. Admins cannot reset passwords. Save this phrase offline immediately.

STEP 04

PGP & 2FA Configuration

Before engaging in any market activity, navigate to your user settings and add your PGP Public Key.

  1. Generate a PGP key pair (RSA 4096-bit recommended).
  2. Paste your Public Key into the DarkMatter settings panel.
  3. Decrypt the verification message sent by the server.
  4. Enable 2-Factor Authentication (2FA). This ensures you must decrypt a message to log in.
STEP 05

Funding Protocol

DarkMatter Market Link architecture supports both Bitcoin (BTC) and Monero (XMR). Monero is strongly recommended due to its inherent privacy features (Ring Signatures, Stealth Addresses).

Deposit Process

Go to Wallet > Deposit. Generate a new address. Send funds. Wait for confirmations (XMR requires 10 blocks, approx 20 mins).

Withdrawal

Withdrawals require your PIN and PGP verification. Ensure your receiving wallet is synced before initiating a transfer.

STEP 06

Order Management

Understanding the Escrow system is vital for asset protection.

  • Traditional Escrow Funds are held by the market until the order is finalized by the user. This is the default and safest method.
  • Finalize Early (FE) Funds are released to the vendor immediately. Warning: Only use FE for highly reputable vendors with established trust history.
  • Dispute Resolution If an issue arises, do not auto-finalize. Open a dispute to allow a moderator to review the transaction details.
